Increasing Overall Awareness of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in National COPD Awareness Month

Please join us for November’s Educational Talk on “Pneumonia and COPD” on November 20th at 12 pm. This vital presentation delivered by Dr. Gerald Lowman, Board Certified Pulmonologist and Pulmonary Rehab Director at New  Eastwood, will take place in our conference room. Lunch will be provided. RSVP is required by November 18.

COPD is a progressive disease that makes it hard to breathe.  It is a major cause of disability, and the third leading cause of death in the United States.  This informative educational session will increase awareness of COPD and help people take steps to mitigate risk factors and implement a healthier lifestyle. Points  to be discussed will include: What is Pneumonia? Who gets it and how do you prevent it?  What is COPD?  Who is at risk and how can you treat it?  Why are Pneumonia and COPD important causes of serious illness and deaths in the US?
